> BARCELONA

Although you might have been there before, Barcelona is a city you love to come back to again and again. For the original architecture, the Mediterranean country house life, the small fashion stores, the beach, the nightlife. And of course the sun.

Ramblas all over
You cannot miss it: the Ramblas (La Rambla). Previously a river, now a broad light yellow 'boulevard' which takes you from the center to the sea. Surrounded on both sides by palm trees and many street artists, it really gives you a Mediterranean feeling. Many pleasant terraces and people wandering easily, that is the thing of this area.

When you walk until the bottom of the Ramblas, you will see the statue of Columbus and the historical harbor, and if you then walk another 10 minutes, you’ll arrive at the beach.

Tourist bus in Barcelona
Maybe it is not the way you picture yourself in a city as lively as Barcelona, but buying a ticket for a day (or even 2 days) is really a good way to discover the city. If you consider this, try to do it on one of the first days of your stay, preferably in the morning while it still a little bit quiet on the bus. The ride not only gives you a good insight in the highlights of Barcelona, but it helps you to find your way in Barcelona much easier.

The double-decker is convertible so you can enjoy the sun, you’ll see all the highlights of Barcelona, and every 15 minutes a new bus passes, so you can hop on and hop off the whole day long with only one ticket.

Fantastical Gaudi
Well visited, by people all over the world; the artistical buildings of the fantastic architect Antoni Gaudi. The 2 Gaudi-houses on Passeig de Gracia Casa Mila and Casa Battlo are the most famous, next to the Sagrada Familia. Gaudi designed as well the famous parc Guell in Barcelona, where you can get lost delightfully or go for a romantic picnic, overlooking Barcelona.

Barcelona: sun, sea & tapas

Tapas are small dishes, sometimes served on a piece of bread, of which you order several at the same time, to eat together with your friends. Squid rings, spanish cheese and ham, the famous jamon Iberico (Pata Negra), lovely olives, sardines, meatballs, dices of tenderloin, and that is just a small selection....

Order them with a bottle of Cava to maintain the Barcelona style; at a terrace or, on the beach of Barceloneta, Port Olimpic or Bogatell.

The climate in Barcelona allows you to enjoy beautiful days of sun even in early season february as late season november. Shopping and sightseeing in the morning, in the afternoon with your toes in the sand, and afterwards some tapas.
